Four Hoyas Earn BIG EAST Weekly Honors to Open 2025 Season 2/4/25

WASHINGTON – Four Georgetown University men’s lacrosse players earned BIG EAST Weekly honors for the first week of competition, as announced by the league office on Monday. Anderson Moore was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, Ross Prince was named both the BIG EAST Freshman of Week and BIG EAST Specialist of the Week while Fulton Bayman and Joe Cesare both earned spots on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for their efforts in the Hoyas 13-6 win over Loyola Maryland over the weekend.

BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week

Moore, the reigning BIG EAST Freshman of the Year, continued his dominance between the pipes with 14 saves against just six goals allowed in Georgetown’s 13-6 win against Loyola. He added three ground balls as well.  The Hoyas held the Greyhounds to just two goals in the final three quarters including blanking the Greyhounds in both the second and fourth quarters. The six goals allowed were the fourth fewest for Moore in his 18 games on the Hilltop.

Prince excelled in his first career collegiate game, winning 16-of-20 faceoffs (.800) on the day and collecting five ground balls against the Greyhounds. He won the first 13 faceoffs of the game, including every faceoff in the first half.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Bayman made his first career start after transferring to the Hilltop from Notre Dame for his final year of eligibility. He posted a career-high four points with two goals and two assists, both of which tied career highs. Bayan also scored the game-winning goal with 12:48 remaining in the third quarter and added four ground balls on the day.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Cesare earns his first career BIG EAST weekly honor after netting a hat trick in his first career start for the Hoyas. His three goals matched a career best, highlighted by a snipe to the top corner that literally ripped through the goal netting to complete the hat trick.
