Senior midfielder Colton Jackson enters BIG EAST play on 99 career points

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Senior midfielder Colton Jackson (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) has been named one of 10 finalists for the 2019 Senior CLASS Award, the committee announced on Friday. Jackson is the fifth Denver men’s lacrosse player to be tabbed a finalist for the award. Fan voting begins today, and ends May 20, with fans being able to vote once per day by clicking here.

The 2017 Elite 90 Award Winner is a two-time USILA Honorable Mention All-America selection. Entering BIG EAST play, Jackson has scored 72 goals in 58 career games to go with 27 assists for a total of 99 points out of the Denver midfield. Jackson has scored six game-winning goals in his career, including four in his junior campaign. For Jackson’s full nomination, click here.

To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be classified as NCAA Division I seniors and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.

An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their athletic platforms to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.

The finalists were chosen by national media from the list of 30 candidates announced earlier this month. Nationwide fan voting begins immediately to help select the winner, and fans are encouraged to submit votes online at the Senior CLASS Award website through May 20. Fan votes will be combined with those of the media and Division I head coaches to determine the winners. The Senior CLASS Award recipient will be announced during the 2019 NCAA Men’s Lacrosse National Championship® in May.
