
WASHINGTON – Georgetown University’s men’s lacrosse team welcomes Providence to the Nation’s Capital for the 2025 BIG EAST opener on Saturday afternoon at Cooper Field. Saturday’s contest will also serve as Senior Day for 18 graduate student and senior Hoyas.

- The Hoyas are ranked No. 17 in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Coaches Poll and 15th in the KANE Inside Lacrosse Media Poll.
- Georgetown is coming off a 13-12 setback to then-No. 14 Richmond in the nonconference finale last weekend.
- Kevin Miller led the Hoyas with a career-high six points with four goals and two assists while Fulton Bayman matched his four goals to go with an assist.
- Ben Firlie had two goals and an assist, Aidan Carroll notched a goal with a team-best three assists and Jordan Wray found the back of the cage once.

- On the season, Carroll leads the Hoyas with 33 points (19G, 14A) while Bayman has 29 (18G, 11A) and Miller adds 18 (14G, 5A). Joe Cesare chips in 13 (11G, 2A). and Jordan Wray has 10 (4G, 6A).
- Defensively, Robert Plath has been credited with 19 caused turnovers on the season while Seamus Foley has 12 and Ty Banks has nine.
- Ross Prince has won 50-of-86 (.581) faceoffs on the season to pace the Blue & Gray while Wilson Van Buren has gone 32-for-75 (.427) and Riley is 15-for-29 (.517).
- In goal, Moore has played all but 4:03 on the year and boasts a 9.08 goals-against average with a .517 save percentage and 77 saves.
Scouting Providence
- The Friars (4-5) are coming off a 16-8 loss to then-No.18 Saint Joseph’s in their nonconference finale.
- Ryan Bell, the reigning BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year, leads Providence with 38 points (10G, 28A) while Jack Horrigan adds 28 (21G, 7A) and Richie Joseph is good for 26 (20G, 6A).
- Defensively, Gregg Dennison has been credited with eight caused turnovers and 14 ground balls while Albert Paniccia adds six caused turnovers and 25 ground balls.
- Quinn McConnaughey is the top faceoff specialist for PC, winning 101-of-176 (.574) on the year to go with a team-best 46 ground balls.
- In goal, Dan Donahue has started all nine games, posting an 11.70 GAA to go with a .510 save percentage and 102 saves.
Series History
- Georgetown and Providence have played 21 times before with the Hoyas owning a 19-2 series lead.
- The Hoyas have won the last 10 meetings, including a pair in 2024. Georgetown won 15-10 in Providence during the regular season and posted a 14-13 overtime victory in the BIG EAST Semifinals courtesy of the game-winner from Carroll.
