It’s Throwback Weekend and all eight teams will be facing off at Rafferty Stadium in Fairfield, CT Friday July 19, 2024 and Saturday July 20, 2024. We’re a little over halfway through the season and things are really heating up now.
Right now the team to beat is the New York Atlas as they lead the league with a record of 5-1 and unless they lose the remaining games, they’ve locked in a playoff spot. While on the other end of the spectrum, with only six playoff spots available, the Philadelphia Waterdogs (1-4) and the California Redwoods (1-3) are chasing for a chance to redeem their season but will have to win all their remaining games for a shot.
This weekend fans will see the Outlaws (2-2) face off against the Waterdogs (1-4) Friday night, game time 6:00 p.m. EST on ESPN+. Next up, the fans get to catch the Chaos (2-3) going up against the Whipsnakes (2-3) at 8:30 p.m. EST also on ESPN+. All four teams playing Friday night have lost their last games so fans will see some great action as each side wants that “W”. The Chaos haven’t been on the field since June 29 when they lost to the Dogs…will this make a difference with everyone well rested or will it be to their detriment having only certain players who played in the All Star Game on July 13, 2024.
That takes us to Saturday July 20 when fans get to see the two best teams in the league, the New York Atlas (5-1) take on the Boston Cannons (4-2) at 3:00 p.m. EST on ABC and ESPN+. With Baptiste at the 50/50 dot and the Cannons having notched the most two point bullets in a single game, fans are in for a treat so expect a high scoring game. The weekend caps off with the worst in the West, the California Redwoods (1-3) hosting the best in the West, the Utah Archers (3-2) at 5:30 p.m. EST on ESPN+. The Redwoods just came off a much needed first win against the Cannons on July 5 and the Archers aren’t really looking like the 2023 PLL Champs so this game could go either way.
Here’s what you need to know about this weekend’s game and the Throwback Jersey’s they’ll be wearing.
