UNCASVILLE, CT. (December 11, 2019) – On Tuesday, Dec. 10, the New England Black Wolves announced that Jackson Nishimura has been signed to a two-year contract extension.
Per team policy, no details were released.
Nishimura is currently in his second year with both the Black Wolves and the National Lacrosse League.
Drafted in the second round (26th overall) in the 2018 NLL Entry Draft, Nishimura has seen action in 14 games with the Pack. In 13 games last year, the rookie defender collected 71 loose balls and caused eight turnovers. He also finished with seven points after netting in three goals and assisting on four others. Of the 15 shots he took during the 2018-19 season, 14 of them were shots on goal.
“We are very excited to have Jackson sign a long-term commitment to New England,” general manager Rich Lisk said. “He is part of a core young defense that we are committed to. Jackson signing a long-term deal also shows his commitment to building a championship here in New England.”
New England is currently 1-0 on the season after defeating Toronto 12-8 in the season opener. The Black Wolves will gear up for a trip to Saskatoon, SK. on Saturday, Dec. 14 to take on the Saskatchewan Rush at 8:30 p.m.
