In this weekend NLL action the Rochester Knighthawks (1-2) were on the road once again as they traveled to the West Coast to take on the San Diego Seals (2-2).  Rochester was looking to rebound after last week’s loss to the Buffalo Bandits.  It seemed it was going to happen for the Knighthawks; however they would come up just short in a back and forth contest between the two teams with San Diego taking the win 12-10.

First quarter action would see both sides locked up 3-3 at the end of the first.  San Diego would strike first on a long outlet pass from net minder Frank Scigliano to Adrian Sorichetti (1G) for breakaway goal at 13:44 to put the Seals up 1-0.  Rochester would answer back on a goal from Kyle Jackson (3G) at 12:14 to tie it up 1-1.   San Diego would then net the next two scores coming from the likes of Turner Evans (1G) and Austin Staats (4G, 1A) putting the Seals ahead 3-1.  The Knighthawks would be able to find their two scores in the closing minutes of the quarter to tie it up 3-3 both goals coming at the hands of Corey Vitarelli (2G, 1A).

The second quarter of play would see a repeat just as in the first with both sides exchanging goals 3-3.  The Seals would get scores from Kyle Buchanan (2G, 3A); Dan Dawson (3G, 1A) and Garrett Billings (1G, 2A).  Rochester would get their offense this quarter from Graeme Hossack (1G, 1A) and Jackson would answer for two back to back scores to give him a hat trick on the night and both sides were knotted up at 6-6 heading into the half.

With the third quarter another back and forth effort on both sides this time each team only giving up two goals apiece.  Rochester would see Cody Jamieson (1G, 5A) find the back of the net just 33 seconds into the quarter and the Knighthawks other score coming from Joe Resetarits (2G, 4A).  San Diego’s scores would come from ex-Knighthawks Dawson and Staats for his second of the night to make it 8-8 at the end of the third.

Fourth quarter action would continue its back and forth contest but unfortunately Rochester’s late surge would come up short against the Seals as they would outscore the Knighthawks 4-2.  Netting scores for the Seals would be Buchanan for his second of the night and Dawson netting his third for the hat trick; and another two from Staats giving him four goals on the night.  Rochester would get scores from Resetarits and Austin Shanks (1G).  Rochester would drop the contest 12-10 to now go 1-2 on the season with the Seals now 2-2 on the season.
