Laramie, Wyoming– The Metropolitan State University of Denver Roadrunners got the season off to a great start with a victory over the University of Wyoming Cowboys on October 8, 2016 with a final score of 22-9. It will be interesting to watch the Roadrunners this season with first time head coach, Daniel Hunter. Hunter’s coaching style is on a personal level with his players where he will give out suggestions for plays, but he is also willing to take suggestions from any of the players on the squad. Fans should be anticipating another highly competitive and skilled lacrosse team this season from the Roadrunners, as they will be faced with high expectations after recording a record of 10 wins and only three losses in the previous season.msu-vs-cowboys-10-8-16-c

During the game versus the Cowboys, some of the players who were making a name for themselves were; Mitch Larsen, Adam Legaretta, Josh Davis, Justin Galbreith, Sam Low, Anthony Sanfilipo, Matt Buskiewic and even Joey Huntley who plays defense would score.

Davis will be one of the players that people will want to keep an eye on this season, as he accumulated 36 points last season in 13 games played. Being in his senior year, Davis will no doubt be one of the leaders for this team this season. Another one of the players who will be a leader of this Roadrunners squad, is Logan Bruss (junior) as last season he led the team with 100 points (53 goals, 47 assists).

Be sure to keep an eye on this Roadrunners team, as they take on UCD on October 17th at 7:30pm at the Regency Athletic Complex on the campus of Metropolitan State University.
