Rounding out this week’s NLL action would have the Calgary Roughnecks (3-5) traveling to the Dickies Arena to take on Panther City Lacrosse Club (1-8) in front of a crowd of 5,403.  The game would become a game of runs as each team would go back and forth on this feat with the Panther City Lacrosse Club looking to get its’ first home game win, but unfortunately they’d come up just short as Calgary would go on to take the win.  Final Score:  Roughnecks 13—Panther City 12.

First period action would have Panther City coming out early and tallying the first three scores of the game in just under the first three minutes of play.  Tallying scores for Panther City would come from the likes of Cam Milligan (3g, 2a) at 42 seconds, Phil Caputo (2g, 3a) at 1:34 and Jeremy Thompson (2g) netting his at the 2:07 mark to make it a 3-0 game in favor of Panther City.  Calgary would then find their own momentum and go on a five goal run to close out first period action.  Getting things started for the Roughnecks run would be Zach Currier (1g) netting his only score at the 3:01 mark to get Calgary on the board.  Other Calgary players tallying scores in the period would be Kyle Waters (1g), Tyler Pace (3g, 5a) netting two of his three scores of the night and teammate Haiden Dickson (1g, 1a) rounding out the Roughnecks scoring giving Calgary a two goal lead at the end of the first period.  Score at the end of one:  Roughnecks 5—Panther City 3.

Momentum would once again change hands in the second period with Calgary netting the first score of the frame just 26 seconds into play from Jesse King (1g, 6a) to go up 6-3.  But Panther City would go on a five goal run of their own.  Oddly enough the first three tallies would all come on power play opportunities with Patrick Dodds (1g, 5a), Liam Byrnes (1g) and teammate Dean Fairall (1g, 2a) getting in on the action to tie up 6-6  at the 7:00 mark.  Panther City’s next two scores would come from Thompson for his second of the night and teammate Will Malcom (1g, 5a) to round out the five goal run and give them an 8-6 lead at the 11:53 mark.  Calgary would get one more tally in the frame coming from the likes of Tyler Burton (1g) netting his only score of the night at the 14:59 mark to get the visitors back to within one right before the half.  Score at the end of two:   Panther City 8—Roughnecks 7.

Tables would turn again as the third period action would see Calgary outscoring Panther City 3-2.  Their first two scores in the frame came from Dan Taylor (1g) and Zach Herreweyers (2g) netting his first of two on the night to give Calgary a 9-8 lead at the 3:44 mark of the period.  Panther City would then tie it up once more as Milligan would find the back of the net at 5:28 for the equalizer and we were tied back up at 9-9.  After three and a half had ticked off the Roughnecks would answer back with a score from Tanner Cook (1g, 3a) to give Calgary a 10-9 lead at 8:57 into the period.  Panther City was able to tally one more score in the frame when Caputo found the back of the net on a power play marker at 10:42 to make it tie it up again.  Score at the end of three:  Panther City 10—Roughnecks 10.

Calgary would start off the fourth early with Pace notching his hat-trick only 26 seconds in for to go ahead marker and the Roughnecks were up 11-10.  But once again, Panther City Lacrosse Club would answer right back with a score of their own at 1:14 from Nathan Grenon (1g, 1a) to tie the contest up once more at 11-11.  Calgary would then rally off the next two scores of the contest, getting goals from Harrison Matsuoka (1g) and Herreweyers to give the Roughnecks a two goal lead 13-11 at the 3:50 mark.  Panther City would tally one more in the period from Milligan on a power play opportunity at 7:42 to make it a 13-12 game.  The rest of the fourth period would be a defensive battle which the Roughnecks would win as they would hold on for the win.  Final Score:  Roughnecks 13—Panther City 13.
