In Week Three of the 2019-20 NLL action we saw the Georgia Swarm (2-0) continue to show why they are one of the dominate teams in the league.  They played host to the Philadelphia Wings (0-1) at the Infinite Energy Arena in front of a crowd of 6,301.  Although the Wings dominated at the face off with Trevor Baptiste winning 17 of 22; and fairly even all across the stat sheet with the Swarm; Georgia was able to take advantage of the power play going 3 of 5; the Swarm’s defense with goaltender Mike Poulin led the way stopping 42 out of 48 shots from the Wings and this allowed Georgia to take the victory 12-6.

Georgia’s offense was led by Lyle Thompson who would have another seven point game (4g, 3a); and teammate Shayne Jackson netted a hat trick (3g, 2a).  In addition, Miles Thompson; Randy Staats; Adam Wiedemann; Bryan Cole; and Jordan Hall all netted one score a piece for the Swarm.

The Swarm would hold a 6-3 lead at the half; and continued to build on that lead for the remaining two frames by outscoring the Wings 3-1 in the third; and 3-2 in the fourth.

Philadelphia would be led by Kevin Crowley (2g, 2a); with Matt Rambo scoring his only goal of the night on a spectacular cross crease dive.  The Wings would receive scores from Corey Vitarelli (who would get the first on the night and his first in a Wings jersey); Brett Hickey; and Kiel Matisz.
