Shawn started playing box lacrosse when he was 4 years old and played for 17 years, playing his minor lacrosse in Toronto and Jr. B in Aurora Ontario. After being away from lacrosse for 10 years while playing Roller Hockey for the Canadian National Team he was brought back to the sport when his son was old enough to play.
He has coached, refereed and been on the Board of the Minor Associations that his son has played for over the last 10 years as well as having managed the local travel Field Lacrosse team that play in many tournaments in the US. Along with being involved off the floor he also decided to play again and has played Masters Lacrosse over the last 14 years.
He is also a big NLL fan, having season tickets for the Toronto Rock for over 20 years.
