In a shocking turn of events, the Boston Cannons have been informed that after the MLL Trade Deadline, Dave Lawson former midfielder for the New York Lizards has announced his plans to file retirement paperwork with the MLL and will not be a part of the Cannons squad for the season.

Chris LaPierre former midfielder also traded from the Lizards has elected not to report to the team. Although this allows the Cannons to gain an additional roster spot, it also puts the Cannons in a precarious position as they now must appeal to Major League Lacrosse to address additional compensation from the Lizards for the June 27, 2017 trade.

As we have more information we will report on how the Cannons will prepare for the final few games of the 2017 MLL season. At the current time, Boston sits in last place in the MLL with the record of 3-6 and New York is only one game ahead of them with a record of 4-6.
