The Six Nations Snipers had taken a firm lead in first place going into last weekend where they faced St. Catherine’s at the ILA and on the road vs. the Peterborough Timbermen.

Game One Action

Saturdays contest saw both teams go on runs and St. Catherine’s strung together four late goals including the game winner scored by Jeff Wittig to give the ShockWave the 12-11 win.

The point getters for Six Nations were Tyler Albrecht four points; and Roger Vyse, Layne Smith and Danton Miller with three points apiece. Georgia Swarm practice player Warren Hill was in net for Six Nations.

Game Two Action

The Snipers got right back into action Sunday afternoon against Peterborough.  They went ahead and never looked back defeating the Timbermen 18-7. Rochester Knighthawks practice player Quinn Powless and Luke Laszkiewicz each had nine point games.

Lefty forwards Layne Smith had five points; Torrey VanEvery had three goals and one assist; and Travis Longboat chipped in with three assists. Chase Martin got the win in net making seven saves and defender Jake Crans was Third Star of the Game.

Also on defense we watched the return of Brier Jonathan who was signed by the Buffalo Bandits and saw NLL game action this season.

With two weeks left before championship weekend the Snipers look to get another win over Oshawa at home and play the last weekend on the road vs. Paris.

Championship weekend will be played April 8 and 9 so Six Nations will look to add two more wins to their record so they can head into championship weekend as the Number One seed as they look to be the first ever Arena Lacrosse League champions.
