The Saskatchewan Rush (8-4) would fall to the Colorado Mammoth (8-6) at the Pepsi Center on Lacrosse Out Cancer night, where it would be another battle for the top position in the Western Conference. It was a thrilling game, but ultimately it would be the Mammoth who would pull away with the 14-11 victory over the Rush.
The Rush would make a bid for the comeback victory, where they would rally from a five goal 8-3 deficit at the start of the third quarter, but the Mammoth would tighten up their game to secure the victory, and now only trail the Rush by one game in the Western division.
The Rush would take a 2-1 lead after the first quarter, but due to penalty troubles the Rush would lose the lead and the Mammoth would take full advantage. Colorado would score seven goals in the entirety of the third quarter, which was largely dominated by three goals coming on the power-play.
Jeremy Noble would lead the Mammoth, as he would get a hat-trick in the span of five minutes with his third goal coming on the Mammoth power-play as he would launch a shot over the shoulder of Aaron Bold to make the score 7-3 in favor of the Mammoth. The Mammoth would take a firm 8-3 lead into halftime.

However, that lead for Colorado would soon disappear as the Rush would gather some momentum of their own in the third. Mark Matthews would get things started for the Rush, as he would fire a shot past Mammoth goalie Dillon Ward. Robert Church would get a goal of his own as he would grab the ball off of a scramble, and beat Ward to bring the score to 9-5 in favor of the Mammoth.
Greer would respond for Colorado on the power-play, but the Rush would storm back with their second straight three-goal run that would be started by former Mammoth favorite Adam Jones as he lunged across the crease and slipped a shot past Ward.
Ben McIntosh would join the party, as he would fire a rocket from outside to close the Mammoth lead. Church would tie the game at 10, as he would complete his hat-trick by beating Ward through the legs for his league-leading 17th power-play goal.
The Rush would get the first lead of the game, as Marty Dinsdale would record his second goal of the night with a solo effort in front of the Colorado net to sneak a shot past Ward. However, Noble would tally his fourth of the night with a power-play strike that would tie the game 11-11.
From there on out, the Mammoth would control the rest of the game as Jacob Ruest, and Greer would get goals of their own to give the Mammoth the 13-11 lead. Crawford would finish up the game for the Mammoth, as he would record a goal of his own. Final Score: Mammoth 14—Rush 11.
The Rush (8-4) will be back to action next Saturday, as they will go on the road to visit the Buffalo Bandits (5-7). This will be the Rush’s first encounter with the Bandits since Saskatchewan swept the Bandits in the 2016 Champion’s Cup Final.
