The Six Nations Snipers are excited to start their first season this weekend in the newly formed Arena Lacrosse League. The A.L.L. is a six team league beginning this weekend in Southern Ontario.  Their hopes are to become a minor league system to the NLL and giving players a chance to play at a higher level.

The Snipers are the first team to publicly post their roster and have many NLL caliber players on the squad.  They have a strong chance to bring home the leagues first championship. General Manger Jake Henhawk showed why he has been successful in the past.  He has taken his knowledge and built this team from the ground up.

The offense will be led by Roger Vyse who has been successful through out his career in box lacrosse.  Other offensive vets include Cory Bomberry; Stu Hill; Travis Bland; and Haodais Maracle who has played in the NLL the past two seasons and had a good showing at last years Presidents Cup. Former Stealth players, Shayne Adams and Danton Miller look to shore up the left side; while young guns Layne Smith and Travis Longboat look to impress NLL scouts.

On defense you have Tommy Montour who can push the ball up the floor in transition like no other and is a strong defensive player; and Jake Crans who has been stellar these past few summers for the Six Nations Rivermen. Some of Jake’s teammates from the summer will join him on defense this winter, including: Marcus Elvin; Marty Hill; and Aston Jacobs. Rayce Vyse who has come out of retirement is skilled on both sides of the ball as is former Georgia Swarm draft-pick Patrick Corbett.  Both Chase Martin and Brandon Styres will also push for solid playing time.  Brayden Hill of the Georgia Swarm practice squad should impress the fans, along with Swarm practice squad teammate Warren Hill who looks to be the starter for the Snipers in net.

This team had a hard working training camp, and has both talent and depth on the roster.  That being said, look for them to make a championship run this season.

They open the season tomorrow, Saturday January 7, 2017 in Oshawa facing the Oshawa Outlaws at 7pm.
