Lacrosse is Awesome
Last night we found out that the Denver Outlaws had traded Dom Sebastiani to the Chesapeake Bayhawks. Sebastiani had been with the Bayhawks in 2013 when they won the MLL Championship and traded to the Outlaws in 2014. During that two year span, Sebastiani would bring home two MLL Championship rings.
Sebastiani’s career has been a great one so far. Here’s the history since he began playing lacrosse.
– Set career-highs for goals (3), assists (1, points (4), ground balls (21) and games played (14) in 2014.
– Won back-to-back MLL Championships with the Chesapeake Bayhawks (2013) and Denver Outlaws (2014).
– Was a five-year letterwinner at the University of Delaware, where he finished his career ranked second in school history with 48 caused turnovers.
– Acquired via trade with Chesapeake along with a first-round pick (8th overall) in the 2014 MLL Collegiate Draft in exchange for Brian Megill.
– Drafted by Chesapeake in the fourth round (32nd overall) of the 2013 Collegiate Draft.

2015: One of five players to play in all 14 games… Scored his lone goal of the season in the final game vs. New York (7/25)… Dished out five assists, including two at Ohio (4/19)… Picked up a season-high 31 ground balls… Earned a career-high six ground balls vs. Boston (7/4).
2014: Sebastiani set career-highs for goals (3), assists (1), points (4), ground balls (21) and games played (14) in 2014… Won his second consecutive MLL Championship… Recorded his first postseason goal in the club’s win vs. Roch. (8/23).
2013: Sebastiani played five games and picked up five ground balls as a rookie for Chesapeake… Appeared in the Bayhawks’ 10-9 victory in the MLL Championship Game.
COLLEGE
Sebastiani finished his five-year career at Delaware ranked second in school history with 48 caused turnovers…
Picked up 123 ground balls and added 10 goals with 23 assists for 33 total points.
Nick Osello who played for Notre Dame and is from Denver was originally picked 60th overall in the 2015 MLL Collegiate Draft, the Denver Outlaws selected Ossello with hopes that he would immediately impact their team. However, Ossello decided to return to the University of Notre Dame in order to play football with the Fighting Irish as a fifth-year senior. Ossello, after his college football career was complete, joined the Bayhawks through the 2015 MLL Supplemental Draft.
COLLEGE
Ossello was a two-sport athlete in college, playing for both the University of Notre Dame’s lacrosse and football programs. In lacrosse, Ossello was a solid two way midfielder who was strong in face-offs. He helped lead his team to appearances multiple times in the NCAA Tournament as well as an ACC Championship in 2014. He played as a safety for the Fighting Irish football team.
HIGH SCHOOL
Ossello is a three-time all-conference performer in lacrosse at Wheat Ridge High School. He received all-state accolades as a junior and senior and served as the team’s captain during his junior year. He also played football at Wheat Ridge being named the team MVP and team captain during his senior season.
Lacrosse is Awesome was fortunate enough to get to know Dom as not only a player but as a great man. We will miss him here in Denver and wish him the best of luck in his return to the Bayhawks and he reunion with former Denver Outlaw Anthony “A” Train Kelly.
