CHARLOTTE, NC (June 9, 2016) — On Thursday night the Ohio Machine (6-2) collected a road victory putting the Hounds (3-3) in a muzzle 16 to 9. The Machine offense certainly got the job done. Brandon Mangan opened the scoring in the first quarter for the Machine and throughout the game three Machine players earned hat tricks including Marcus Holman who earned his in just over five minutes during the second quarter.

The score suggests differently, but the Hounds defense did not play too bad. That is not to say they played well though. I am going to call it like it is. They were out matched. The Machine’s offense is loaded with talent. In my opinion it’s one of the most all-around talented offensive rosters in the MLL. The hard truth for Hounds fans is that the defense still has some holes to fill and have quite a bit of work to do.

The Hounds offense did its best but the Machine goalie and Coca-Cola Player of the Game Scotty Rodgers played an amazing game. He stopped 19 of the 27 shots he faced. His most saves since April 2014. Sankey and Chanenchuk led the Hounds with a pair of goals apiece.  Final Score:  Machine 16—Hounds 9.

The Hounds are back at it on the road against the Boston Cannons (4-3) tonight, June 11th at 7pm ET on ESPN 3.
