PERRY, N.Y – Picking up his second honor of the week, Towson men’s lacrosse attackman Spencer Parks was named as the USILA/Lids Team Sports Offensive Player of the Week. The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA), made the announcement Wednesday afternoon.

Notre Dame goalie Shane Doss was selected as the USILA/Lids Team Sports Defensive Player of the Week for play during the week of March 14-20.

After leading the then-No. 10 Towson men’s lacrosse team to a 2-0 week, Parks was named Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Men’s Lacrosse Co-Player of the Week, Monday morning.

Parks, who resides in Fallston, Maryland, was named Player of the Week along with UMass attackman Buddy Carr. The Minutemen saw Tom Meyers named Rookie of the Week as well.

In the Tigers’ first game of the week at Ohio State, Parks put up four points on two goals and two assists. It was his final assist of the game that was the difference, hitting redshirt freshman Ian Kirby with the game-winning helper with 34 seconds left in overtime. The Tigers topped the Buckeyes, who received votes in the national polls, 10-9 thanks to Parks’ helper.

On Saturday, Parks finished with three points on two goals and one assist in the 15-6 win over Furman.

Parks finished the week with seven points (4g, 3a), doing so with efficiency. The senior hit for four goals on just eight shots, putting six of those chances on goal. Parks had just two turnovers on the week as well.

The No. 9 Tigers return to Johnny Unitas ® Stadium on Saturday for their final nonconference clash of the season. Towson takes on Binghamton at 3 p.m. as part of a doubleheader day at Unitas Stadium. The Tiger women’s program hosts CAA foe Delaware at noon.
