LEWISBURG, Pa. – The No. 16 Boston University men’s lacrosse team suffered a 13-6 setback at Bucknell on Saturday at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium.

BU (6-2, 2-1 PL) and Bucknell (5-3, 2-2 PL) were tied, 4-4, after 30 minutes, but the Bison outscored the Terriers, 9-2, in the second half to snap the Terriers’ three-game win streak.

Junior Christian Carson-Banister made 13 saves between the pipes. Classmate Greg Wozniak matched his career high with eight ground balls and also caused a turnover while Burr finished with three ground balls and a caused turnover of his own. Junior Sam Talkow was 11-of-16 at the face-off X with six ground balls.

Wilson opened the scoring with 8:00 left in the first quarter, and after Bucknell tied the game, Homire found Burr at the left post for a goal to give the Terriers a 2-1 lead late in the frame. The Bison answered with less than a minute to go to make it 2-2 after 15 minutes.

Hilburn made it 3-2 early in the second quarter when he picked up a ground ball at the left post and quickly whipped in a shot for his third goal of the season.

Wilson notched his second goal of the game early in the second quarter in transition after a great pass from Dearth. The Bison responded with a pair of goals, however to force a deadlock at halftime.

Bucknell began the third quarter with two quick goals, but the Terriers got a goal back halfway through the frame when Schaal fed Dearth from X for the midfielder’s sixth goal of the season.

Burr’s second goal of the game from Dearth came with 9:06 left to play and made it a 10-6 game. The Terriers had several other chances to cut into the deficit. However, Christian Klipstein made five of his 14 saves in the fourth quarter to thwart a BU comeback.

The Terriers will have a quick turnaround as they will travel to No. 14 Harvard on Tuesday night. That game will be shown live on NESNplus beginning at 7 p.m.
