Rochester Knighthawks (3-4) look to bounce back in the win column Saturday March 5, against the Calgary Roughnecks (3-6) as Rochester is in the home stretch of their four game road trip before returning home March 12th.

Rochester can still grab the top spot in their division as they are still two games out of first place which is currently held by New England.

The Knighthawks were very busy this past week making roster moves to hopefully make the second half of season more fruitful for them as they try to make the most for a playoff run.

One of the moves made this week for Rochester is welcoming back defense men Scott Self who was on the “physically unable to perform list” to help solidify the defense. Other moves made this week included placing forward Mark Cockerton on the practice squad; and the release of forward Ty Thompson.

Another key aspect to getting this win against a very hungry Calgary team who has lost three straight is going to come down to defense especially which goalie will have the bigger game. Rochester’s Matt Vinc currently has an 11.76 GAA with a .763 save percentage. However, Calgary’s Mike Poulin boasts a 10.92 GAA with a .792 save percentage.

Most critics right now are blaming both teams’ defenses for their lack luster performances on the field but a defense is only as good as its good offense. Rochester currently has 77 goals for to their 84 goals against where Calgary has 97 goals on the season with 110 goals against.

This should be an exciting game as both teams are coming off losses from last weekend’s games.
